Tottenham Hotspur cement top four spot with hard-fought win

Luton Town pushed Spurs all the way at Kenilworth Road

Son Heung-min's first-half strike and an own goal from Lewis Dunk gave Tottenham Hotspur a hard-fought 2-1 win over Luton Town on Friday night.

The victory sees Spurs move above Aston Villa into fourth place in the Premier League table, while Luton remain 19th, four points from safety.

Tottenham started the game brightly and took the lead in the 15th minute when Son Heung-min fired home from close range after good work from Harry Kane.

Luton grew into the game and leveled the scores in the 35th minute through James Collins. The defender headed home from a corner to give the Hatters a deserved equalizer.

The second half was a more even affair, with both sides having chances to win the game.

However, it was Tottenham who eventually found the winning goal in the 83rd minute. Lewis Dunk turned the ball into his own net under pressure from Kane.

The win was Tottenham's third in a row in the Premier League and keeps them in the hunt for a top-four finish.

Luton, meanwhile, will be disappointed with the result, but they can take heart from their performance.

The Hatters defended well for large parts of the game and created several good chances of their own.

They will need to continue to show the same level of commitment and quality if they are to avoid relegation.
