Dodgers Notes Shohei Ohtanis Pitching Rehab La Pitching Injuries Dave Roberts

## Dodgers notes: Shohei Ohtani’s pitching rehab, LA pitching injuries, Dave Roberts ### Ohtani's pitching rehab progressing Shohei Ohtani was scheduled to make his third rehab start Tuesday for Triple-A Salt Lake. The Angels’ two-way star has been on the injured list since June 9 with a Grade 2 strain of his UCL. Ohtani threw 30 pitches in his first rehab start and 45 pitches in his second. He is expected to throw 60 pitches in his third start. If all goes well, Ohtani could be activated from the injured list and start for the Angels on July 12 against the Texas Rangers. ### LA pitching injuries The Dodgers have been hit hard by injuries to their pitching staff. Walker Buehler is out for the season after undergoing Tommy John surgery. Tony Gonsolin is on the injured list with a right forearm strain. Dustin May is also on the injured list with a right elbow impingement. The Dodgers have called up several pitchers from the minors to fill out their rotation, including Ryan Pepiot, Michael Grove, and Bobby Miller. These young pitchers have shown promise, but they have also been inconsistent. The Dodgers are hoping to get some of their injured pitchers back soon, but they are not expected to be at full strength until later in the season. ### Dave Roberts Dodgers manager Dave Roberts has been under fire this season for his handling of the team's pitching staff. Some critics have accused Roberts of overworking his starters. Roberts has defended his decisions, saying that he is trying to win games. He has also said that he is confident in his pitchers' ability to stay healthy. The Dodgers are currently in first place in the NL West, but they have lost four of their last six games. They will need to get their pitching staff healthy and consistent if they want to win the division.
