Boston Celtics Win Game 1 of Eastern Conference Finals in Overtime Thriller

Pacers Fall Short Despite Strong Performance

In a back-and-forth battle at TD Garden, the Boston Celtics edged out the Indiana Pacers 133-128 in overtime on Tuesday night to take a 1-0 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals. The game was tied at 108 at the end of regulation, forcing an extra period.

Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 35 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 assists, while Jaylen Brown added 28 points. For the Pacers, Domantas Sabonis had 24 points and 16 rebounds, and Malcolm Brogdon scored 23 points. The Celtics hit 16 three-pointers in the game, compared to the Pacers' 9.

The Pacers fought hard throughout the game and led by as many as 10 points in the third quarter. However, the Celtics chipped away at the deficit and eventually took the lead late in the fourth quarter. The Pacers had a chance to tie the game in the final seconds of regulation, but Myles Turner's three-pointer bounced off the rim.

In overtime, the Celtics took control of the game. Tatum scored the first five points of the extra period, and the Celtics never looked back. The Pacers were able to cut the deficit to two points with less than a minute remaining, but Brown hit a clutch three-pointer to seal the win.

The Celtics will look to take a 2-0 lead in the series when they host the Pacers in Game 2 on Thursday night.
