Brighton Vs Man City Highlights

Manchester City Return to Action with a Winning Performance

Alvarez and Haaland Lead 10-Man City to Victory

Goals from Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland helped 10-man Manchester City return to action in winning style.

Manchester City returned to action on Thursday night with a 2-1 victory against Brighton at the Etihad Stadium. The newly-crowned Premier League champions took the lead early on through Phil Foden, but Brighton equalized through Julio Enciso before half-time.

City were reduced to 10 men in the second half when Joao Cancelo was sent off for a second bookable offense. However, the hosts rallied and secured all three points thanks to goals from Alvarez and Haaland.

The win moved City five points clear of Liverpool at the top of the Premier League table. With just two games remaining, Pep Guardiola's side are now on the brink of retaining their title.

Alvarez opened the scoring for City in the 21st minute, finishing off a fine move involving Kevin De Bruyne and Foden. Haaland doubled the lead just three minutes later, heading home a cross from Riyad Mahrez.

Brighton pulled a goal back in the 39th minute through Enciso, who fired home a stunning volley from outside the area. However, City held on to secure the three points and move a step closer to the Premier League title.

The win was a welcome boost for City, who had lost their previous two games in all competitions. Guardiola will be pleased with the way his team responded to going down to 10 men, and he will now be hoping to finish the season strongly.
